We stayed for one night at this dog friendly pub/hotel, having booked in simply because it was handy for the motorway on our way home from Wales. We thought it looked good on the website, we were misled.... It was fantastic, the decor, lighting and plants made you feel you had chosen well.

Inside it is huge, but divided in such a way as to give a different vibe to each area, comfy settees, rustic wooden tables and a bright, long bar leading further in to several areas well suited to larger parties. We booked in at the bar, very informal and welcoming, and were blown away with our gable end, split level room with an enormous bed, gorgeous fabrics and lovely toiletries in a nice bathroom.

The service was informative, efficient and friendly, it was very busy, which added to the ambience and we were told there may be a little wait for food but we didn't notice one… Almost forgot! The food, wine and breakfast ticked every box. I wish these folk had a place in Yorkshire. Please consider!!

For my birthday, my partner treated me to a 3 course meal at the Bears Paw, followed by an over-night stay. Every course was amazing, the service was friendly and very efficient. The atmosphere throughout this place is utterly gorgeous and the room we stayed in - one of the executive rooms, room 7 was absolutely stunning - with super-king size 4 poster bed, all amenities, the shower head is mahooosive and décor stylish and modern. Best night sleep in a long time! Breakfast was yummy and plenty of choice - just get yourself booked in!

We stayed for the second time this weekend at The Bear's Paw, really couldn't fault anything. Rooms are all individual and in our experience are equally appointed to a high standard. The restaurant is good - so very busy, so advisable to book early - don't wait till you get there. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff we met were very friendly and keen to check we were enjoying our stay. We will definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We recently called in here for a week day lunch and it was a real treat. The food was lovely, it was beautifully presented and tasty with an excellent selection of food on the menu, all the pub classics you'd expect with a modern classy twist.

The building it's self has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and is too very impressive, the whole experience was topped off by fantastic, attentive, but not bothersome staff. Totally recommend giving it a try and will certainly be returning ourselves.

Exceptional customer service (nothing is too much trouble) the food is delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing, One of the best hotels I have stayed in, the pleasant welcome, that lasted throughout the stay was refreshing. Definitely a return visit in the near future. :-)

The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very attentive and the food you can't fault. We shared whitebait, followed by calamari for me and smoked haddock, asparagus and parmesan risotto for my partner, roast lamb (absolutely divine) for me and rabbit leg and pasta for my partner (he was warned that this was a small main dish, but not in our view).

Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, so next time.....
